Fresno Unified School District will distribute grab-and-go breakfast and lunch meals at all sites from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today, the district announced Tuesday night.
Beginning Thursday, the district will distribute meals at the following locations from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday:
The district is providing meals to its 74,000 students and their families while schools are closed due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
District spokeswoman Nikki Henry said the district served 4,700 meals Monday and 14,400 meals Tuesday.
Maintaining nutrition for students, many of whom would go hungry without the free breakfasts and lunches provided by the district, continues to be a top priority for the district.
Clovis Unified, which began meal deliveries by school bus to rural areas this morning as well as continuing to provide meals at schools, served nearly 1,000 meals Tuesday, district spokeswoman Kelly Avants said Tuesday night.
The district is providing meals for all children ages 1-18. Meal pick-up is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
